KYOTO

The project Kyoto was born in 2020: The peculiarity  lies in the fusion of beatbox technique with dark, cinematic electronics. Kyoto intones and declaims words in a frenzied and irreverent way that reach straight to the stomach and head, over repetitive, pounding musical patterns that combine the most modern electronics with typical elements of tradition, such as the Apulian one that represents it. The project veers toward scenarios that distance themselves from the Italian music scene, looking for a place to identify themselves, or perhaps simply escaping any kind of syntacticand musical staticity

 Il progetto Kyoto ( aka di Roberta Russo), è nato nel 2020: la peculiarità risiede nella fusione della tecnica del beatbox con un'elettronica scura e cinematica. Kyoto intona e declama parole in maniera frenetica, irriverente, dissacrante, che arrivano dritto allo stomaco e alla testa, su pattern musicali ripetitivi, martellanti, che uniscono l’elettronica moderna a elementi tipici della tradizione, come quella pugliese che la rappresenta. Il progetto vira verso scenari che si distanziano dal panorama musicale italiano, cercando un luogo dove identificarsi, o forse semplicemente sfuggendo ogni tipo di staticità sintattica e musicale.
